Editorial standards
The rules below are what we hold ourselves to before anything goes up under the PlayBK8 MY byline. They exist because the iGaming niche is full of unverifiable claims and we'd rather lose a headline than borrow someone else's marketing language.
1. No superlatives without proof
"No. 1", "best", "biggest", "highest", "most trusted", "leading" — these words do not appear in our content unless they are followed by a specific, verifiable comparison with a source and date. If we cannot link to a comparison table, a regulator filing, or a published benchmark that supports the claim, we use a softer, accurate phrasing instead.
This rule is direct guidance from Google's Helpful Content guidance, which singles out unverifiable boasts as a low-quality signal. It is also a self-protective rule: claiming "highest payout rate in Malaysia" is the kind of statement that ages badly the moment a competitor publishes a higher number.
2. Every number gets a source and a date
Numbers that appear on this site — bonus percentages, wagering multipliers, RTP figures, withdrawal times, deposit minimums, player-base sizes, age-of-platform — come with either a footnote linking to the operator's own published page (with a capture date) or, where we have measured the number ourselves, the sample size and date range of the measurement.
We prefer ranges to single points when the underlying reality is variable. "DuitNow withdrawals process in 5–15 minutes (observed across 8 test withdrawals between 2026-04-12 and 2026-05-10)" is better than "5-minute payouts" because it is true.
3. Named bylines on every guide
Every substantive page on this site carries a named author byline linking to our team page, where the author's role, background, and areas of focus are disclosed. We do not publish anonymous reviews or rotate articles through generic "editorial team" attributions. If a page is co-authored or fact-checked by someone other than the lead writer, both names appear.
The byline also carries a "Last verified" date, not a "Last updated" date. The distinction matters: verification means we re-checked the underlying claims against primary sources, not just changed a comma.
4. Outbound citations to authoritative sources
Substantive guide pages on this site link out to at least one authoritative external source — a regulator, a testing lab, an operator's own published terms, or mainstream news coverage. We do not link to other affiliate sites as authority, because most are themselves uncited.
For game-fairness claims we cite the relevant testing lab (iTech Labs, BMM Testlabs). For licensing claims we cite the regulator. For bonus terms we cite the operator's promotions page with the capture date.
5. Real testing where it is feasible
Where we publish numbers about deposit times, withdrawal speeds, customer-service response, app launch time, or game loading speed, those numbers come from actual tests we have run, not from BK8's marketing pages. Test sample sizes and date ranges are disclosed alongside the numbers. If we have not tested something, we say so — for example: "We did not test these bonuses with real-money deposits; the wagering math is computed from BK8's published terms."
6. No fake testimonials. No invented users.
You will not see masked-name testimonials ("J***z***7") on this site. We have seen those used on competing sites and they read as fabricated because they are. Where we want to show social proof, we embed a real third-party reviews widget or omit the section entirely.
The same rule applies to player-count claims. We do not assert "10 million active users" or "200+ regional service centres" unless those figures appear in a publicly verifiable source.
7. Update cadence: quarterly minimum
Every published page on this site is reviewed and re-verified at least once per quarter. Pages that cover frequently-changing facts — bonus terms, withdrawal rails, payment methods, the VIP ladder — are reviewed more often, particularly when operator-side changes are announced. The "Last verified" date on each page reflects the most recent successful re-verification, not the most recent edit.
8. Corrections policy
If you spot a factual error on this site, please contact our editor. We respond to all flagged corrections within five business days. Verified corrections are made promptly; we add a small "Corrected on [date]" note next to the changed line so readers can see what changed and when.
We do not silently overwrite errors. We do not pretend an old version of the page never existed. The corrections trail is part of why a reader should trust a published number on this site.
9. What we will not do
- Publish operator-supplied content as if it were independent editorial.
- Remove unfavourable observations on commercial request.
- Promise winnings, "guaranteed payouts", or any other outcome that depends on chance.
- Use "click here" or "learn more" as link text — we use descriptive anchors that say where the link goes.
- Render anything that looks like a deposit form, balance widget, or game lobby on this site. We are an editorial guide, not the operator.
10. Responsible gambling on every page
Every page on this site carries a visible 18+ disclaimer and links to responsible-gambling support resources in the footer, including BeGambleAware, GamCare, and Gambling Therapy. For Malaysian players in distress, the Talian Kasih hotline (15999) is included alongside the international resources.
